Biography
Charles Beaumont (born Charles Leroy Nutt) was an American author of speculative fiction, including short stories in the horror and science fiction genres. He wrote numerous episodes for the television series The Twilight Zone (1959), among them adaptations of his own stories such as "Perchance to Dream" and "The Howling Man".
Beaumont also wrote screenplays for several films, including The Intruder (1962), The Premature Burial (1962), The Haunted Palace (1963), 7 Faces of Dr. Lao (1964) and The Masque of the Red Death (1964). Born in Chicago, Illinois, on 2 January 1929, he died in Los Angeles, California, on 21 February 1967.
