Biography

Charles Edward Pogue is an American screenwriter, playwright and stage actor. He was born on 18 January 1950 in Cincinnati, Ohio, and studied theatre arts at the University of Kentucky, graduating in 1972. He began his career writing plays and screenplays after moving to Los Angeles.

Pogue is known for his screenplays for The Hound of the Baskervilles (1983), Psycho III (1986), The Fly (1986), D.O.A. (1988) and Dragonheart (1996). He has also written other Sherlock Holmes adaptations and worked in the science fiction, fantasy, horror and thriller genres. He has written several plays and a novelisation of Dragonheart.
