Biography
Charles F. Wheeler (15 December 1915 – 28 October 2004) was an American cinematographer. He began his career as a camera operator on films such as Inherit the Wind (1960), Judgment at Nuremberg (1961) and It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963). He served as a combat photographer in the United States Navy during the Second World War.
Wheeler worked extensively for Walt Disney Productions. His credits as director of photography include Duel at Diablo (1966), Yours, Mine and Ours (1968), Silent Running (1972), Freaky Friday (1976), The Cat from Outer Space (1978) and The Best of Times (1986). He received an Academy Award nomination for Tora! Tora! Tora! (1970) and a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for the television film Babe (1975).
