Biography
Charles Ferguson is an American documentary filmmaker, director and writer. Born on 24 March 1955 in San Francisco, he holds a BA in mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a PhD in political science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Ferguson previously worked as a consultant on technology policy and founded the software company Vermeer Technologies, which he sold to Microsoft in 1996. He is the founder and president of Representational Pictures.
His films include the documentary No End in Sight (2007), about the American occupation of Iraq, and Inside Job (2010), on the global financial crisis, for which he also wrote the screenplay. Inside Job won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.
