Biography
Charles Siebert was an American actor and television director. Born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, he studied at Marquette University and trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. He began his career in regional theatre and on Broadway in the 1960s and 1970s, with appearances in productions including Bertolt Brecht's Life of Galileo and Neil Simon's The Gingerbread Lady.
As an actor, Siebert was best known for playing Dr. Stanley Riverside II on the series Trapper John, M.D. (1979–1986). He appeared in films such as Coma (1978), ...And Justice for All (1979) and Eight Men Out (1988), and in television series including Dallas (1978), Murder, She Wrote (1984) and The Incredible Hulk (1977). From the mid-1980s he focused increasingly on directing episodic television, helming episodes of Knots Landing, Silk Stalkings, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (1995) and Xena: Warrior Princess (1995), among others. He also appeared in Xena as Sisyphus and voiced Poseidon.
Siebert died on 1 May 2022.
