Biography
Charles Straumer (1905–1980) was an American cinematographer who worked primarily in television. He began his career in the camera department on feature films, including as assistant cameraman on Gunga Din (1939) and camera operator on Pitfall (1948).
Straumer served as director of photography on numerous television series. His credits include 74 episodes of The Adventures of Jim Bowie (1956–1958), 112 episodes of The Untouchables (1959–1963), seven episodes of Mission: Impossible (1966), and episodes of Batman (1967–1968) and The Name of the Game (1968–1971). He won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography for Television for his work on an episode of Westinghouse Desilu Playhouse.
