Biography
Charlie Haskell is a New Zealand director and second-unit director. He trained at film school in New Zealand in the late 1980s and began his career as an assistant director on local productions including End of the Golden Weather (1991) and The Piano (1993).
Haskell directed second-unit sequences on the American series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys from 1993, leading to main-unit directing work on 32 episodes across that series, Xena: Warrior Princess (1995), Young Hercules (1998) and Jack of All Trades. He has since directed episodes of Power Rangers, The Almighty Johnsons and The Cult, as well as telemovies such as Tangiwai: A Love Story (2011), which earned a nomination for Best Director at the Monte-Carlo TV Festival.
His second-unit credits on feature films include 30 Days of Night (2007) and The Warrior's Way (2010). More recent work encompasses directing on Ash vs Evil Dead and New Zealand projects including Pirates of the Airwaves (2014).
