Biography
Charlie Murphy was an American actor, comedian and writer. Born Charles Quinton Murphy on 12 July 1959 in New York City, he died there on 12 April 2017.
He was best known as a cast member and writer on the Comedy Central series Chappelle's Show (2003–2006). Murphy also appeared in films including Harlem Nights (1989), Jungle Fever (1991), Night at the Museum (2006) and Meet the Blacks (2016). He co-wrote the story and screenplay for Norbit (2007), in which he voiced Floyd the Dog, and contributed to Vampire in Brooklyn (1995). He was the older brother of comedian and actor Eddie Murphy.
