Biography
Charlie Wachtel is an American screenwriter, director and producer. He is best known as co-writer, with David Rabinowitz, Kevin Willmott and Spike Lee, of the 2018 film BlacKkKlansman, which received six Academy Award nominations and won the award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
Wachtel graduated from American University in 2009. He began his career with short films and television work, including directing and writing episodes of The Tinsel Zone (2012) and Horror Haiku (2013). He frequently collaborates with writing partner David Rabinowitz; their other projects include the unproduced script Thacher Island and the series concept Madness.
