Biography
Charlotte Kaufman is an American actress, producer and cinematographer. She is the daughter of filmmaker Lloyd Kaufman, co-founder of Troma Entertainment.
She appeared in numerous Troma films from childhood onwards, including The Toxic Avenger Part II (1989), Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D. (1990), Tromeo & Juliet (1996), Terror Firmer (1999), Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV (2001) and Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead (2006). She studied at Columbia University.
Kaufman has produced documentary series including The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst (2015) and its 2024 second season, for which she received a Primetime Emmy nomination. She produced, directed and wrote the documentary The Alabama Solution (2025), nominated for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.
