Biography
Chas Bain is a British cinematographer. He began his career in 1986 as a camera trainee on Jim Henson’s The Storyteller, later working as a loader and focus puller on productions including Blade II (2002), Alexander (2004) and The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (2005). He moved into operating and lighting roles from 2005, serving as camera operator on films such as Children of Men (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008), Snow White and the Huntsman (2012) and Fast & Furious 6 (2013).
Bain’s credits as director of photography include the series The Last Kingdom (2015–2018), on which he shot 22 episodes across the first three seasons, as well as Eat Locals (2017), Save Me (2018), The Secret (2016) and episodes of A Discovery of Witches, Endeavour and Doctor Who.
