Biography

Chen Daoming is a Chinese actor. He graduated from the Central Academy of Drama in 1982 and first gained attention for his role as Puyi in the 1984 television series The Last Dynasty. In 1990 he starred in the CCTV series Fortress Besieged.

He is known for his performance as the King of Qin in Hero (2002) and as the undercover detective in Infernal Affairs III (2003). Other notable film roles include those in My 1919 (1999), for which he received Best Actor awards at the Golden Rooster Awards and Huabiao Awards, Coming Home (2014) and Aftershock (2010). He has served as president of the China Film Association since 2018.
