Biography
Cheri Steinkellner is an American screenwriter, television producer and songwriter. Born Cheryl Lynn Eichen on 25 November 1955 in Los Angeles, she began her career as an actress before collaborating with her husband Bill Steinkellner.
From 1985 to 1992 she wrote and produced episodes of the sitcom Cheers. She co-created the animated series Teacher's Pet (2000–2002), later adapted into a 2004 feature film. Other television credits include The Jeffersons, The Facts of Life, Who's the Boss?, Bob and Hope & Gloria.
With her husband she wrote the book for the stage musical Sister Act, for which they received a Tony Award nomination. She has written additional stage works and teaches writing at institutions including UC Santa Barbara.
