Biography
Cherise Bates (also credited as Cherise Bate) is an American dancer, actress and teacher. Born Cherise Cheryl Bate on 15 May 1952 in Cleveland, Ohio, she studied at Los Angeles City College and briefly at UCLA before pursuing a performing career.
Her screen credits include the role of Zola Taylor in the 1976 musical drama Sparkle, an appearance in the 1979 comedy Americathon, Muse #4 in the 1980 film Xanadu, and dancer roles in To Live and Die in L.A. (1985) and the television film Copacabana (1985). She later worked as a dance instructor in the Los Angeles area.
