Biography
Cheryl Hall (23 July 1950 – 9 August 2026) was a British actress. She trained at the Corona Academy of Stage Training and made her film debut as the Red Hat Girl in Deep End (1970).
She is best known for playing Shirley, the girlfriend of Wolfie Smith, in the BBC sitcom Citizen Smith (1977–1979). Other television roles include Shirna in the Doctor Who serial Carnival of Monsters (1973), appearances in Lucky Feller (1976), On the Buses (1971), The Bill (1984–2007) and EastEnders (1988). Film credits include Villain (1971) and The Magnificent Seven Deadly Sins (1971).
Hall stood as the Labour Party candidate for Canterbury in the 1997 general election and served as a member of Kent County Council, including a period as leader of the Labour group. She was married to actor Robert Lindsay from 1974 to 1980.
