Biography
Chris Manheim was an American television writer and producer. She studied acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York on a scholarship from the University of North Carolina, before moving to Los Angeles in 1978 to pursue scriptwriting.
She began her writing career on Eight Is Enough (1977) with a partner, later contributing episodes to Murder, She Wrote (1984), V (1984) and Monk (2002). Manheim joined Xena: Warrior Princess (1995) as a freelance writer in its first season and advanced to story editor and producer, writing or co-writing numerous episodes including The Prodigal, Remember Nothing, Maternal Instincts and The Bitter Suite.
She retired with her husband Rick to North Carolina. Manheim died on 7 August 2025.
