Biography

Chrisi Karvonides-Dushenko is an American costume designer working in theatre, film and television. She graduated with an MFA in theatre design from Yale School of Drama in 1991 and a BFA from Emerson College.

Her television credits include costume design on the HBO series Barry (2018), Big Love, Carnivàle, From the Earth to the Moon and American Horror Story, as well as American Dreams, for which she received a Primetime Emmy Award in 2003. Feature film work includes The One (2001), The Glass House (2001) and Beautiful (2000); earlier credits include assistant costume designer on Starship Troopers (1997), True Lies (1994) and Demolition Man (1993). She has also designed for Broadway (Two Trains Running), regional theatres and opera productions.

Since 2011 she has been professor and head of the Costume Design programmes at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television.
