Biography
Christine Anu is an Australian actress and singer of Torres Strait Islander origin. Born on 15 March 1970 in Cairns, Queensland, she trained in dance at the National Aboriginal and Islander Skills Development Association (NAISDA) and performed with Bangarra Dance Theatre.
She appeared as Arabia in Baz Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge! (2001) and as Kali in The Matrix Reloaded (2003). Her stage credits include a starring role as Mimi in the Australian production of Rent (1998–1999) and a role in Little Shop of Horrors. She has also worked in television and received ARIA and Deadly Awards.
