Biography
Christoph Bantzer is a German actor. He was born on 4 January 1936 in Marburg and trained at the Max-Reinhardt-Schule in Berlin.
His career has centred on theatre, with long associations including the Schiller Theater in Berlin, the Schauspielhaus Zürich and, since 1985, the Thalia Theater in Hamburg. He has also appeared in numerous television productions, including episodes of Tatort and Derrick, and the miniseries Mozart (1982), in which he played the title role.
On film, Bantzer is known for his role as Fred in Michael Haneke's Funny Games (1997) and as Vater Lara in 4 Kings (2015).
