Biography
Christopher Tyng is an American composer for film and television. Born on 5 August 1968 in Long Beach, California, he is known for his work on numerous television series.
He composed the music for Futurama (1999–), including its main theme, which samples Pierre Henry’s “Psyché Rock”, The Winstons’ “Amen Brother” and Sugarhill Gang’s “Rapper’s Delight”. His other credits include Rescue Me (2004–), The O.C., Suits, Knight Rider and the animated special Olive, the Other Reindeer (1999).
Tyng has received multiple BMI and SESAC awards, as well as an Online Film & Television Association award for best television theme for Futurama. He is a multi-instrumentalist who began as a drummer.
