Biography
Christopher Young is a Scottish film and television producer and founder of Young Films. Born in Edinburgh in 1959, he trained in film production at New York University before establishing his company in 1986. His early work focused on Scottish and Gaelic-language projects, including the features Venus Peter (1989), Prague (1992), Gregory's Two Girls (1999) and Seachd: The Inaccessible Pinnacle (2007).
Young achieved wider recognition as producer of the Channel 4 series The Inbetweeners (2008–2010) and its 2011 feature film spin-off. He has also produced the Gaelic-language drama series Bannan (2014–2019) and other projects such as Festival (2005) and The Invisible Life (2013). Young Films relocated to the Isle of Skye, where Young has lived since the 1990s, and he has supported Gaelic media initiatives and emerging Scottish talent.
