Biography
Chu Ishikawa (also credited as Chū Ishikawa) was a Japanese composer and musician specialising in industrial and experimental music. He founded the groups Zeitlich Vergelter and Der Eisenrost, and began composing for film in the late 1980s.
He is best known for his long collaboration with director Shinya Tsukamoto, providing the scores for Tetsuo: The Iron Man (1989), Tetsuo II: Body Hammer (1992), Tokyo Fist (1995), Bullet Ballet (1998), Gemini (1999), Vital (2004), Haze (2005) and Tetsuo: The Bullet Man (2010), among others. He also composed for several films by Takashi Miike, including Fudoh: The New Generation (1996) and Dead or Alive 2: Birds (2000).
Ishikawa died on 21 December 2017.
