Biography

Cilla Rörby is a Swedish costume designer. Born Karin Cecilia Rörby on 28 May 1970 in Gävle, she trained at Sandvikens Textil Design Skolan and Beckmans Designhögskola in Stockholm. She moved to the capital in 1992 and initially worked in advertising before taking her first film assignments in the early 2000s.

Rörby is known for her work on the Millennium trilogy, serving as costume designer on The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009), The Girl Who Played with Fire (2009) and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest (2009). Her other feature credits include Call Girl (2012), Gentlemen (2014), The Circle (2015) and Becoming Astrid (2018). She has also designed costumes for television series including Modus, Selmas saga and the 2024 adaptation of Ronja the Robber's Daughter.

Rörby has received two Guldbagge Awards for Best Costume Design, for Call Girl and Gentlemen.
