Biography
Cindy Appel is an American television writer and producer, also credited as Cynthia Appel. She began her career in production and script roles, working as a script coordinator on series including The King of Queens and Numb3rs, and as production staff on According to Jim and Desperate Housewives.
She has written episodes for Desperate Housewives (2012), The Odd Couple (2015), Young & Hungry, Heartbeat, Superior Donuts (where she also served as executive story editor), MacGyver (2020–2021) and Star Trek: Picard (2022–2023). She has also held producing roles including co-producer on MacGyver and supervising producer on Star Trek: Picard. In 2026 she wrote an episode of the series VisionQuest.
