Biography
Claire Mathon is a French cinematographer. She studied at the École nationale supérieure Louis-Lumière, graduating in 1998, and has worked on numerous short films, documentaries and feature films.
She is known for her work on Stranger by the Lake (2013), for which she received a César Award nomination for Best Cinematography; My King (2015); Atlantics (2019); Portrait of a Lady on Fire (2019); Petite Maman (2021); Spencer (2021); and Saint Omer (2022).
For Portrait of a Lady on Fire, Mathon won the César Award for Best Cinematography, the Lumière Award for Best Cinematography, and shared the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award for Best Cinematography (with her work on Atlantics). She was born in 1975 in Dijon, France.
