Biography
Clay Tarver is an American writer, producer and director. He has written episodes of the HBO series Silicon Valley (2014–2019), on which he also served as co-showrunner and executive producer, and directed one episode. He co-wrote the screenplay for the film Joy Ride (2001) with J. J. Abrams and wrote and directed the films Vacation Friends (2021) and Vacation Friends 2 (2023).
Tarver began his career in music as a guitarist in the bands Bullet LaVolta and Chavez. He later created the MTV interstitial series "Jimmy the Cabdriver" and directed television commercials, including the "Got Milk?" campaign. He graduated from Harvard University in 1988.
