Biography
Clive Donner was a British film director and editor. Born in London on 21 January 1926, he began working in the film industry as a teenager at Denham Studios and later became an editor at Pinewood Studios. His editing credits include Scrooge (1951), Genevieve (1953) and I Am a Camera (1955).
He made his directorial debut with The Secret Place (1957) and went on to direct features such as The Caretaker (1963), Nothing But the Best (1964), What's New Pussycat? (1965) and Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush (1968). Donner also directed television films, including The Scarlet Pimpernel (1982) and A Christmas Carol (1984). He was married to costume designer Jocelyn Rickards from 1971 until her death in 2005. Donner died on 6 September 2010.
