Biography
Colin Friels is an Australian actor of stage, film and television. Born on 25 September 1952 in Kilwinning, Ayrshire, Scotland, he moved to Australia as a child and trained at the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney.
He is known for his title role in the 1986 film Malcolm, for which he won the AFI Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. Other notable film roles include Louis Strack Jr. in Darkman (1990), Michael Grazier in Class Action (1991) and Det. Eddie Walenski in Dark City (1998). On television he has appeared in series such as Water Rats and Mystery Road (2018).
Friels is married to actress Judy Davis.
