Biography
Colin Hoult is a Canadian cinematographer and director of photography. He has worked in film and television for over 35 years, beginning as a camera assistant in Toronto while still in high school and progressing to focus puller, camera operator and full-time DP.
Hoult is a member of both the Canadian Society of Cinematographers and the American Society of Cinematographers. His credits as DP include episodes of Suits (2011), Star Trek: Discovery (2017–2019), The Strain (2014), Chucky (2021), Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities (2022), FUBAR (2023) and Off Campus (2026). He has received CSC award nominations for The Strain and Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities, and has won two CSC awards.
