Biography

Colin Lavers was a British costume designer who worked in the BBC Costume Department for around 25 years. He designed costumes for four serials of the original Doctor Who (1963): The Power of Kroll (1978–79), Four to Doomsday (1982), The King's Demons (1983) and The Five Doctors (1983). He created the Fifth Doctor's signature cricketing outfit for Peter Davison.

Lavers' other television credits include Miss Marple: A Caribbean Mystery (1989), several BBC Shakespeare productions such as All's Well That Ends Well (1981) and Love's Labour's Lost (1985), Judge John Deed (2002–2006) and episodes of Last of the Summer Wine and Only Fools and Horses. He died in 2012.
