Biography
Coralie Fargeat is a French filmmaker. She was born in Paris on 24 November 1976 and studied at Sciences Po before attending La Fémis film school. She began her career directing short films, including Le télégramme (2003).
Fargeat gained recognition with her debut feature Revenge (2017), which she wrote and directed. Her second feature, The Substance (2024), for which she also served as writer, editor and producer, premiered in competition at Cannes, where it won the Best Screenplay award. The film received three Academy Award nominations, including for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay.
