Biography
Crahan Denton (born Arthur Crahan Denton) was an American stage, film and television actor. Born in Seattle, Washington, he studied drama at the University of California, Berkeley, and at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York City. He appeared on Broadway in productions including Bus Stop (1955), for which he received an Outer Critics Circle Award, Orpheus Descending (1957) and Key Largo (1939).
Denton’s film roles include Jackson in The Young One (1960), Hecky in The Parent Trap (1961), Walter Cunningham Sr. in To Kill a Mockingbird (1962), Kramer in Birdman of Alcatraz (1962), and Jesse in Hud (1963). He also made numerous television appearances in series such as Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Gunsmoke, The Fugitive and Perry Mason. He died in 1966.
