Biography
Cyril Hume (1900–1966) was an American novelist and screenwriter. He graduated from Yale University and began his career as a novelist before moving to screenwriting in the 1930s.
Hume wrote the screenplay for the science-fiction film Forbidden Planet (1956) and the story and screenplay for Bigger Than Life (1956). He contributed to numerous other films, including Tarzan the Ape Man (1932), Flying Down to Rio (1933), Tarzan Escapes (1936), Tokyo Joe (1949) and The Great Gatsby (1949), as well as episodes of the television series The Rifleman.
