Biography
D. Keith Mano was an American writer and novelist. Born in Manhattan, New York, he attended Trinity School and Columbia University before studying at Clare College, Cambridge, as a Kellett Fellow. He performed with the National Shakespeare Company and later managed a family business while pursuing writing.
Mano published nine novels between 1968 and 1992, including Bishop's Progress (1968) and the ambitious Take Five (1982). From 1972 to 1989 he wrote the column "The Gimlet Eye" for National Review. In the 1980s and 1990s he wrote for television, contributing episodes to St. Elsewhere (1987), Monsters (1989), L.A. Law (1993) and Homicide: Life on the Street (1994). He died in Manhattan on 14 September 2016.
