Biography
Dag Malmberg is a Swedish actor and director. He was born on 18 January 1953 in Gävle, Sweden. He studied sociology and history at the University of Gothenburg and worked as a dockworker before becoming a stagehand and assistant at the Gothenburg City Theatre. At the age of 27 he trained in drama at the Gothenburg Theatre School.
Malmberg has worked extensively in Swedish theatre, including at the Gothenburg City Theatre, Borås City Theatre and the National Swedish Touring Theatre. He is best known internationally for playing Hans Petterson, the Malmö police commissioner, in the series The Bridge (2011–2018). His other screen credits include Easy Money (2010), Call Girl (2012), Borg vs McEnroe (2017) and Sea Fever (2020). He has also directed television series including Älskade Lotten and Vita lögner.
