Biography
Dan Lyons is a writer, journalist and author. He worked as a staff writer on the HBO comedy series Silicon Valley (2014), contributing to the second season and receiving a co-producer credit on the third.
Lyons began his career as a technology journalist, serving as a reporter and editor at Forbes, technology editor at Newsweek and editor of ReadWrite. In 2006 he created the satirical blog The Secret Diary of Steve Jobs under the pseudonym Fake Steve Jobs. The blog led to his work on the series. He has also written three books of fiction, including the novel Options: The Secret Life of Steve Jobs (2007) and the memoir Disrupted: My Misadventure in the Startup Bubble (2016). He holds a B.A. from Bradford College and an M.F.A. from the University of Michigan, where he has lectured.
