Biography
Dan Michaelson is a British composer and musician. Born in Northampton, he is based in London and works across film, television and recorded albums.
He co-composed the score for the BAFTA-winning BBC series Detectorists (2014–2022) with Johnny Flynn, contributing to all three series. Other credits include the feature documentary Blowin’ Up (2018) and the BFI-sponsored film Side by Side (co-written with Lorne Balfe).
As a recording artist he has released several albums, including the orchestral trilogy Distance, Memory and First Light, and the instrumental album Colourfield (2020).
