Biography

Dan Seymour, born Daniel Seymour Katz, was an American character actor. A native of Chicago, Illinois, he graduated from the University of Chicago with a B.S. in Fine Arts. He worked as an emcee in nightclubs before moving to Hollywood, where his build led to frequent casting as villains.

Seymour appeared in several Humphrey Bogart films, including Casablanca (1942), To Have and Have Not (1944) as Captain Renard and Key Largo (1948) as Angel Garcia. He played Pacquet, the storekeeper, in Johnny Belinda (1948) and had roles in The Big Heat (1953) and other films. On television he appeared in series including Batman (1966) as the Maharajah and multiple episodes of Perry Mason.
