Biography
Dan Staley is an American television writer and producer. Born on 3 February 1963 in Manhattan Beach, California, he graduated from Yale University in 1985. He began his career as a copywriter in advertising before moving into television writing in 1990.
With writing partner Rob Long, Staley contributed to the final four seasons of the NBC sitcom Cheers (1982), writing 14 episodes and serving as co-executive producer on the final season (1992–93). The pair later created several series, including Pig Sty (1995), Good Company (1996), George & Leo (1997) and Love & Money (1999).
Staley later worked solo as executive producer and showrunner on the Disney Channel series Good Luck Charlie (2010–2014) and its 2011 television film. He was also on the writing staff of Kevin Can Wait (2016). He has received five Primetime Emmy Award nominations.
