Biography
Daniel Alpert is an American investment banker and economic commentator. He is founding managing partner of Westwood Capital LLC, a New York-based investment firm established in 1995. Prior to that he worked as a banker and partner at Oppenheimer & Co., Inc., with experience in international merchant banking, restructuring and structured finance.
In 2010 Alpert appeared as himself in the documentary film Inside Job. He is an adjunct professor of law and senior fellow in financial macroeconomics at Cornell Law School, a fellow of The Century Foundation, and author of The Age of Oversupply: Confronting the Greatest Challenge to the Global Economy (2013). He co-created the United States Private Sector Job Quality Index.
