Biography
Daniel Marc Janes is a British writer and director. He began his television career in drama development at Eleven Film before joining the writing team on The Crown in 2016 as a story researcher, later becoming a staff writer on seasons 5 and 6 (2022–2023).
He co-wrote the episode ‘Ruritania’ (season 6, episode 6) of The Crown and has received a Writers Guild of America Award nomination for his work on the series. As a writer and director, his short films include Futures (2018) and Conte anglais (2019). He is a graduate of the Soho Theatre Writers’ Lab and the Lyric Hammersmith Young Writers Programme, and his short plays have been performed at Theatre503 and the Arcola Theatre.
