Biography
Daniel May is a visual effects professional, art director and production designer. He is co-founder and CEO of Painting Practice, a studio specialising in visual effects design, motion graphics and production design for film and television.
May worked as VFX Art Director and contributed to production design on the first series of Black Mirror (2011), including the episode 'Fifteen Million Merits'. He has also served as pre-visualisation supervisor on Quantum of Solace (2008) and Angels & Demons (2009), and as 3D modeller on Gravity (2013). Other credits include VFX art direction on His Dark Materials (2019–2022) and work on Doctor Who.
He has received BAFTA nominations for his contributions to visual effects and production design.
