Biography
Daniel Nielsen is a Danish-American composer and musician. He has worked in film, television and advertising, contributing original scores and trailer music. His credits include trailer music for An Inconvenient Truth (2006), the score for Python (2000) and music department work on Apocalypto (2006). He co-arranged the widely licensed trailer theme “Requiem for a Tower”, based on Clint Mansell’s “Lux Aeterna”, for The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002).
Nielsen began his professional career as a staff composer, orchestrator and musician at Walt Disney Studios, where he was mentored by Jerry Goldsmith. He has supplied music for trailers of major franchises and his work has appeared in over 350 television series worldwide. Born in California, he holds an MFA in music composition from the California Institute of the Arts.
