Biography
Danny Dayton, born Daniel David Segall, was an American actor and television director. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, on 20 November 1923, he graduated from New York University's School of Journalism before turning to acting and directing. He began his career on Broadway and in the US Army's entertainment division during the Second World War.
Dayton appeared as Rusty Charlie in the 1955 film Guys and Dolls. He had a recurring role as Hank Pivnik on All in the Family and guest parts in series including MASH (1972), The Nanny (1993) and Friends (1994). Film credits include Ed Wood (1994) as the Soundman. He also directed television commercials, receiving Clio Awards and other honours, and worked on stage productions such as the national touring company of Guys and Dolls*.
He died in Los Angeles on 6 February 1999.
