Biography
Danny Goldman (1939–2020) was an American actor and casting director. He graduated from Columbia University in 1961 and began appearing in guest roles on television series in the late 1960s.
His early screen credits include Capt. Murrhardt in MASH (1970) and a recurring role as Nick Dutton in the sitcom The Good Life (1971–1972). He played the Press Photographer in the Columbo episode "Double Exposure" (1973) and appeared as a medical student in Young Frankenstein (1974). Goldman was the voice of Brainy Smurf in the animated series The Smurfs (1981–1989) and had guest roles in series including The Golden Girls, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch and The King of Queens*.
From the 1980s he worked as a casting director for television commercials and voice-overs, founding Danny Goldman and Associates. He received L.A. Drama Critics Circle and LA Weekly awards for his theatre directing.
