Biography
Danton Rissner is an American film producer and studio executive, also credited as Dan Rissner. Born on 27 March 1940 in Brooklyn, New York, he graduated from Lafayette High School in 1957 and attended Florida Southern College. He began his career at the Ashley Famous Agency, becoming head of its motion picture literary department, before joining Warner Bros. as vice president in charge of European production.
Rissner later held executive roles at United Artists and 20th Century Fox. His producing credits include Up the Academy (1980), A Summer Story (1988), Backfire (1987), School Ties (1992) and Gone Baby Gone (2007); he was also executive producer on Edge of Darkness (2010).
