Biography
Dany Cooper is an Australian film and television editor. She holds a B.A. in Fine Arts and Anthropology from the University of Sydney and a qualification in film production techniques from North Sydney TAFE. Before her editing career she studied violin and piano for a decade and played in the Sydney Youth Orchestra.
Cooper has edited feature films including Angel Baby (1995), Queen of the Damned (2002), Candy (2006), The Sapphires (2012) and Cargo (2017). She worked on the Battlestar Galactica (2004) miniseries and subsequent episodes of the re-imagined series. She is a member of the Australian Screen Editors guild.
Her awards include AFI Awards for Best Editing on Angel Baby and The Well (1997), and an Emmy nomination for the Battlestar Galactica miniseries. She has received multiple ASE and AACTA nominations and awards for her work on features such as Beneath Hill 60 (2010) and Breath (2017).
