Biography
Darío Moreno (born David Arugete) was a Turkish actor and singer. Born on 3 April 1921 in Smyrna (now Izmir), Ottoman Empire, he worked primarily in France during the 1950s and 1960s. He appeared in films including The Wages of Fear (1953), in which he played Pepito Hernandez, Tintin and the Mystery of the Golden Fleece (1961) as Midas Papos, and Woman in Chains (1968) as Sala.
Moreno was also a polyglot singer, composer, lyricist and guitarist. He achieved particular success with his 1961 song 'Brigitte Bardot'. He died on 1 December 1968 in Istanbul, Turkey.
