Biography
Darlene Conley (1934–2007) was an American actress whose career spanned film, television and stage. She began acting at 15 in a touring production of The Heiress opposite Basil Rathbone and made her screen debut in an uncredited role in Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963).
Conley appeared in John Cassavetes' Faces (1968) as Billy Mae, as well as Valley of the Dolls (1967) and Tough Guys (1986). On television she guest-starred in series including Gunsmoke, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Little House on the Prairie and Murder, She Wrote. She played recurring roles in daytime soaps such as The Young and the Restless before portraying Sally Spectra on The Bold and the Beautiful from 1989 until her death. The performance earned her two Daytime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
