Biography
Darren Grant is an American director of television, film and music videos. Born in Seattle, Washington, in 1969, he graduated from California State University, Northridge after studying film. He began his career directing music videos and commercials, working with artists including Destiny's Child, Aaliyah and Jay-Z, and received an MTV Video Music Award for Best R&B Video and an NAACP Image Award.
Grant made his feature-film debut with Diary of a Mad Black Woman (2005), followed by Make It Happen (2008) and Killing Hasselhoff (2017). On television he has directed episodes of series including Supernatural (2005), Suits (2011), Empire (2015), The Chi (2018–2020), Queen of the South (2018–2019), Your Honor (2020), Billions (2016) and The Lincoln Lawyer (2022).
